Check advertising claims, image rights, privacy and media standards before publication. A licence to conduct a business does not by itself authorise every promotional statement or image used to market it.
Identify who approves content and handles complaints. Limit agency and employee permissions to their roles, retaining change records, approved versions and permissions from people whose images are used.
Investigate reported content and pause publication where necessary. Preserve evidence and correction history; removing a post does not automatically extinguish potential responsibility for what was previously published.
Distinguish general educational material from advertising a product or service, and check any media or advertising permissions relevant to the activity. An agreement allocating tasks to an agency can clarify responsibilities between the parties, but cannot displace statutory duties governing the published content.
A practical next step
Assign a content approver and publication checklist for the business account, and review access still held by former staff or agencies.
