Unpaid wages: reconcile the contract and payment records

To assess a late or incomplete salary, compare the agreed amount and payment date with what actually arrived. A payroll system record should be read alongside the worker’s contractual entitlement.

  1. The Wage Protection System monitors payments within the relevant MOHRE framework. Coverage and exceptions require checking; recording a payment does not by itself resolve a dispute about the full wage or deductions. Establish which employment regime applies before choosing the complaint route.

  2. Collect the registered contract, valid amendments, payslips and bank statements. For each month, list the amount claimed, amount received, payment date and disputed deductions separately. Employers should likewise be able to explain the actual payment and basis of changes through clear records.

  3. MOHRE’s My Salary Complaint service offers registered employees a confidential route for reporting late wages, subject to acceptance conditions including existing complaints or court disputes. Check those conditions against your circumstances. Filing a report alone does not guarantee immediate recovery of every amount claimed.

A practical next step

Reconcile the contract and monthly payments, then check My Salary Complaint eligibility using a clear schedule of missing or delayed wages.
