Residency cancellation or entry restrictions: keep track of your contracts

List personal contracts, company obligations and signed guarantees. They do not necessarily belong to the same debtor: a company’s liability should not be treated as a partner’s or manager’s personal liability without examining the company form, your role and the documents. Immigration status alone does not resolve this question.

Where the company employs staff, arrange for timely wages and employee administration. An investor or manager being abroad is not a reason to disregard contractual payments. Check accounting access and the representative’s authority, and process changes to employment arrangements through the applicable official procedures.

For off-plan purchases governed by Dubai’s rules, missed instalments can trigger a developer’s referral to DLD. The law provides for verification of default and a thirty-day DLD notice; later remedies depend on procedure and construction progress. This is neither immediate confiscation nor a rule that every remedy requires a prior court judgment.

Monitor contractual addresses, email and case notifications, and arrange properly authorised representation when necessary. If you claim suspension, termination or relief because of particular circumstances, assess its legal basis with evidence. Keep any negotiated extension or revised payment arrangement in writing.
